What the heck is a Micareta!?!?!

Micareta is the Carnival made in Bahia that takes over Brazil every year and now is arriving in Singapore!

The Carnival in Bahia is the biggest and most famous in Brazil. The rhythms that come from there move the Carnival all over the Country.

Since Carnival is just once an year and we always like to party,the Micaretas were born!

The huge trucks known as “Trio Elétricos” (lorries packed with sound equipment and with a stage on top, that are the heart and soul of Bahia carnival) tour around the country, with the best bands throwing big parties all over the year, each time in a different town.

They are known as Micaretas, and always have some weird name, normally mixing the name of the city with something related with the Carnival, once the SINGAL (Singapore Carnival).

In Brazil you have a lot of them, like the Fortal (Fortaleza), Carnabelo (Belo Horizonte), Carnatal (Natal), Carnabeirao (Ribeirao Preto), Recifolia (Recife, folia=party),etc.

Fortal >> Fortaleza + Carnaval

Carnabelo >> Carnaval + Belo Horizonte

Maceiofest >> Maceio + Fest

Carnabeirao >> Carnaval + Ribeirao

Recifolia >> Recife + Folia (Folia = Party)

These parties grew quite a lot since the beginning, and in some places they are even bigger and more famous than the Carnival itself!

Now it is Singapore turn! We are just not bringing the trucks yet, but the music and, most important, the spirit of the real Carnival will be here!
